Tunnel Singing
Dates: Every Sunday, 10:00–11:00P.M., year-round, in the tunnel south of the Marriott Center

A Double Date That Became a BYU Tradition
In 1989, two couples on a double date stopped in a tunnel near the Marriott Center and sang together. They loved it so much they came back with friends the next week, and the week after that, more showed up. Today, anywhere from 200 to 600+ students gather in that same tunnel every Sunday night to sing hymns together. There's no signup, no practicing required, just show up and sing!
It's grown to include groups in Spanish, Portuguese, and French alongside the original English session. It's not uncommon for a missionary to announce their assignment mid-session, followed by the whole tunnel breaking into "Called to Serve." As one student put it, the real draw isn't really the acoustics, it's the sense of Cougar community.

How To Participate:
- Head to the tunnel south of the Marriott Center on a Sunday night
- Join the English session at 10:00 p.m., or check for Spanish, Portuguese, or French sessions happening around the same time
- Sing along, no experience or singing ability required
- Submit your participation on Traditions Keeper to complete the challenge and consider sharing a photo with us!
