Traditions Ball

Date: March 27, 2027

Tradition Challenge: Dress up, learn some new dance moves, and dance the night away at the Traditions Ball.

A Blue Tie Affair
Since 2008, the Traditions Ball has brought students, alumni, and friends together for a formal "blue tie" evening at the Gordon B. Hinckley Alumni and Visitors Center. The night includes live music, dance instruction, hors d'oeuvres, and a raffle for the ultimate prize: a dance with Cosmo.

Alumni return year after year to relive the tradition that shaped their own BYU experience. Some couples have been attending together since they met on campus decades ago. Current students get the chance to mingle with generations of Cougars, all in one room. Some BYU traditions just get better with time, and the Traditions Ball is one of them.

How To Participate:
  • Get your ticket in advance at studentalumni.byu.edu/traditions-ball
  • Dress in your best "blue tie" attire (suits, dresses, tuxedos, and gowns all welcome)
  • Enjoy live music, dance instruction, and refreshments throughout the evening
  • Submit your participation on Traditions Keeper to complete the challenge and consider sharing a photo with us!
