A BYU Tradition Since the 1950s
Intramural sports have been a part of the BYU experience since the 1950s. Today, more than 10,000 students, faculty, and staff take part each year. 30+ activities are offered, including basketball, flag football, soccer, ultimate Frisbee, and campus favorites like inner tube water polo and dodgeball. It's free for full-time students, and the goal is participation and sportsmanship over winning, though the coveted intramural champion T-shirt is still worth chasing.
BYU's extramural teams play rugby, lacrosse, soccer, and racquetball, competing against other universities outside of the NCAA lineup. Whether you're playing in a game or cheering from the sidelines, intramural or extramural, either one counts.

How To Participate:
- Register for an intramural team (or as a free agent) at isports.byu.edu or extramuralsports.byu.edu
- Play in a game or show up to cheer on a team, either counts
- Submit your participation on Traditions Keeper to complete the challenge and consider sharing a photo with us!
