A Century of Cougar Spirit
Since 1924, Hike and Light the Y has been one of Homecoming's most beloved traditions. Every year, students, alumni, and families climb the trail to BYU's iconic "Y" and raise their flashlights together. This a glowing display of unity and Cougar pride spans more than a century of BYU history.

How to Participate:
- Meet at the Wilkinson Center roundabout for a shuttle to the Y Trail
- Hike up with friends and family. Wear sturdy shoes and bring a flashlight or headlamp
- Celebrate at the top with the glowing Y and enjoy refreshments afterward
- Submit your participation on Traditions Keeper to complete the challenge and consider sharing a photo of yourself lighting the Y with us!
