Every hour, the Centennial Carillon Tower plays a few bars of "Come, Come, Ye Saints" across campus, a sound so familiar most students stop noticing it. Most don't even know that every weekday at noon, a carillonneur climbs 110 steps to play a free 30-minute recital on the tower's 53 bronze bells, some weighing over two tons.
Dedicated in 1975 for BYU's centennial, the tower has been ringing out hymns, folk songs, and original compositions for 50 years. It's easy to walk past without a second thought, but try to stop and actively listen. It's one of the most distinct BYU sounds there is.

- Head to the Bell Tower on a weekday around noon during the school year
- Stop and listen to the live carillon recital for a few minutes or more
